Chaos in the Castle

(Show a book entitled History of Vidgaria, next panel, and open book to reveal a page with a map with two areas marked Vidgaria and Miral on them.)

Narrator: For many years the kingdoms of Vidgaria and Miral had their share of differences, one always claiming to be the other.

(Flip to next page, showing two young boys. One with blonde hair, and the other with Dark Black hair.)

Narrator: But that changed when King Alexander of Vidgaria, and King Leon of Miral struck a friendship when they were boys.

(Turn page to next where a double marriage is taken place. King Alexs wife has blonde hair and)

Narrator: The soon to be kings then married princesses, Alex married the beautiful Rosa, and Leon married a princess from the far east, whose ancestors mastered a secret form of martial arts. The kings decided that when their wives had children that the first born son and daughter would marry, this forever bind their countries in  peace.

(Turn page again, showing kings and their queens holding their babies. Both children have dark hair.)

Narrator: King Leo had a son, and named him Tom; King Alex had a daughter.

(Show the children at five.)

Narrator: When they were five, the girl asked Tom what he thought of their destiny to become husband and wife, he seemed indifferent to the idea, but the girl had a deep feeling that they were meant to be so she said that she would always be with him, but he just shrugged.

(Next page shows a king with no head, but instead two anime style eyes and another with a grey cube for a head with half circular eyes that cut in half when happy or sad, his eyes are half and tilted to look angry.)

 Narrator: But there were those who did not want peace. The tyrants, King Happy and King Block had their armies storm the castles.

(Now in real time.)

Miral Castle

Guard: Halt! Dont come any closer!

Two dark knights attack the guard and he falls, one throws a torch on the ground and the castle starts burning. King Block steps in.

Block: Excellent work, but Im afraid that Ill have to take it from here

D Knight: Youre highness, why?

Block: I have personal business to take care of.

He enters the throne room, and sees a sword holder, there is a katana  in on holder, but the other is missing.

Block: (Closes his eyes and smiles) Now where could that mystic rune blade Shadowslayer be? I hear it is quite powerful.

King Leon jumps from behind a curtain and attacks Block.

Block: Fool! There is no more Miral! Die! (Stabs Leon with his long sword.)

The king falls and Block takes his rune blade.

Block: Ah yes, now that katana will be a valuable addition to my collection. (He turns around, but it isnt there.) Curses!

Later, outside the castle

Block stands outside the ruins.

Block: Status report.

D Knight: Sir! The queen is dead, burned in the fire, and the boy was seen leaving into the forest. Search teams saw a large trail of blood leaving the castle, matching the boys.

Block: Excellent Now to see how Happys doing.

Vidgaria Castle

King Happy sits on the throne of Vidgaria Castle.

Happy: Tell me what of the girl.

A man with the same type of eyes as Happy answers.

Man: Sir, we had some resistance, but the mother is in the torture dungeon, and wont survive, while the girl is being sent to reeducation.

Happy: Excellent Let the Happy Empire begin!

13Years Later

A stagecoach being pulled by a man with a white mask with red happy eyes painted on it come through the forest.

Man: I dont like this they say that Ninja guy lives here.

Another man dressed the same pokes his head out of the side of the coach.

Man 2: Dont worry. There hasnt been a report about him in weeks.

Man: Thats what Im worried about

Two eyes peer from the bushes.

Eyes: Excellent. Some fresh funds (The eyes disappear and streak passes through the road, and spooks the horses, which run free due to freshly cut restraints. The first man still hangs on to the horses, being dragged  through the road.)

The second man steps out of the stagecoach and looks around.

Man2: Oh man its that ninja

A gloved hand touches his shoulder and the man turns around slowly. He sees a ninja who appears to be around 18 in front of him.

Ninja: Thats Dark Ninja to you

Man2: Dont hurt me! I only take orders! (He cowers on the ground.)

DN: Dont be pathetic (He grabs the man and rips up his sleeves and throws dirt on him.) Tell your king you put up a good fight but I got the better of you and the gold. Whatever you do, DO NOT mention that I spared you, or you wont be so lucky next time.

The man runs away, but thanks him very much.

DN: Pathetic Now, lets see what kind of money were talking about.

Dark Ninja pulls out a shuriken and unlocks the chest with it. He opens it.

DN: Bingo.

The chest was filled with jewels and gold.

DN: Im going to be rich! Now to stash it away

Castle Happy

King Happy sits on his throne, listening to the man who fought with the ninja.

Happy: I dont believe a single word. If you are telling the truth, surely youd be dead. Take him away!

Guards with the same masks take him away.

Man2: Noo! Have mercy!

King Happy laughs as the man is taken away.

Happy: Oh how joyous it makes me when I send someone to their death.

Just then, a young girl about 17 walks in, her jet black hair hangs down in an untidy way, and she wears raggedy clothes. She seems to have a smile no matter what the situation and a young, girlish face.

Happy: Ah Maria. Another hard days work?

Maria: Yes my king. All the work has surely made me dirty.

Happy: Really? Well you can go to your quarters and freshen up after you clean the throne room.

Maria: Yes sir.

Happy: I do hope it wont be too much of a problem.

Maria just smiled.

Maria: I know you treat me better than the rest of your servants.

Happy: Thats right. Youre like a daughter to me, and I love you. Ever since your parents died, I took you in, and raised you, and you dont care how anyone treats you you just stay happy (Pauses) Like me (cuts off.)

5 Hours Later

Maria enters her quarters and turns the tv on and goes to her private bathroom, a shower is heard running and focus goes to the television.

The news is on and it shows various things in the news broadcast by two anchormen one of which is too short to see his face and only his forehead is visible. Then Maria steps out of the bathroom, wearing pajamas and watches the news. A special update about the robbery appears on the news.

Announcer: A stagecoach of Vidgaria was robbed today by this mysterious Dark Ninja. Why does he attack our gold supplies you ask? No one knows

Announcer 2: and now for the weather.

Maria: Wow another robbery by that Dark Ninja Hmmm (She gets up and walks to a drawer. She pulls out a ninja costume she made, but had limited material, so it had no arms or legs and a hole in the back of the mask for her hair to fit through.) I wonder if I could find him and ask him about being a ninja?

She puts on the costume and opens her window. There is a large drop from her room to the ground, so she dived out the window into the moat. She plunges in and returns to the surface in time to see King Block enter the castle.

Maria: (Something about him makes me feel uneasy. I have never liked him. Well, no one has, but still)

Throne Room

Narration: I dont trust him.

King Block enters the room and King Happy greats him.

Happy: How are you doing, Block?

Block: Ive come to ask you why you are so kind to that servant. You know as well as I do that-

Happy: Shh patience is a virtue. I always be nice to servants around the castle, because I need to create an image that Im a good guy.

Block: What about the gold guard?

Happy: Died of his wounds, sadly. There was nothing I could do

Block: Hahaha I like your style, Happy.

Outside

Maria gets on dry land and wrings out her belt. She then ties it back on, and heads into the forest.

Forest

Maria walks around the woods until she gets lost.

Maria(Her eyes look worried): I dont know where I am Im scared, wet, tired and its dark out here. Why did I leave?

She continues to walk and eventually falls asleep. A shadow appears over her.

The next day

Maria wakes up, lying in bed, her ninja costume is hanging on a clothesline and she looks around. She is in a cabin and she is wearing some kind of tunic.

Maria: Waitaminute where am I?

Dark Ninja enters

DN: A better question is why were you in the forest last night.

Maria: (She beams.) Dark Ninja!

She then realized that the costume was the only thing she had on. (Her face turns bright red and she goes to slap him, but he blocks.

DN: Whats this about?

Maria: That! (Points at her costume) Was the only thing that I was wearing! And you removed it without my permission.

DN: Please so? They were wet. Wet clothes are no good for ninja or anyone. Ever heard of pneumonia?

Maria(Angry): Do you not understand what Im saying!?

DN: Sure I didnt look. Im a ninja, I have no time to be concerned with that.

Maria: Really?

DN: Yes. Im a ninja. I have a code of honor.

Maria: I believe you. (She realizes that he is still holding her hand and she blushes.)

Maria: um excuse me..

DN looks at her hand.

DN: Oh. Sorry. (He lets go.) So why are you hear?

Maria: Ive seen you on the news. You are going against my king.

DN: Oh I see (Crosses his arms) amateur lady ninja thought she could defeat the big bad Dark Ninja and become hero.

Maria: No! Although that Lady Ninja did sound nice. (Happy) Ill be Lady Ninja!

DN (Shocked): Are you serious?

Maria: Yeah! I want to be Lady Ninja!

DN: Can I at least get your real name?

Maria: Only if I get yours

DN: Not happening.

Maria: Why not?

DN: I dont need to. Anyway, why did you come here?

Maria: I want to become a ninja.

DN: Really? Why?

Maria: I want to get rid of King Happy. I know hes evil. He works for King Block!

DN: (surprised) King Block? (Serious) Fine.. Let your training begin!

Later

Maria and Dark Ninja are outside the cabin, Dark Ninja holds two wooden swords.

DN: Alright. Lets begin, take this sword.

Maria: Ok. (She tries to grab it, but Dark Ninja pulls his arm away quickly, ducks, and swings his leg around, kicking her and sending her falling to the ground.)

She lands on her face, and she sits up, holding her nose. Dark Ninja swings his sword down and Maria looks up in horror. He stops centimeters from her face. They stand still for a second, and then Dark Ninja moves his sword away and speaks.

DN: You have much to learn

Maria: Me!? You need to learn how to respect a lady! (She gets up and glares at him.)

DN: Listen. In the world of the ninja, there is no man or woman. It is just the ninja and the shadows. You must learn that you must fight at your best, no matter your opponent is, never attack unless for defense, and never trust an opponent.

Maria: An opponent? Youre not my enemy, youre my ally!

DN: Well, as long as Im your teacher, Im your enemy, so you must learn to expect an attack whenever.

Maria: Any time?

DN(Gets close to her face and squints his eyes): Any time (Stands up and walks away.)

Maria(sits and looks into nothingness.): Wait

DN (Turns around): What?

Maria: I think I understand what you mean. I cant trust my enemy (Closes her eyes happily and smiles) Ill go take a bath now

DN: As your teacher, I wont find it wise

Maria: As my enemy, youll find it more unwise. (Walks away.)

DN: Hmm Picks up his sword.

Waterfall Pond

Dark Ninja walks up to the pond, hiding in the bushes, he sees Marias tunic on a rock.

DN: (Time to enforce my lesson)

He jumps out of the bush, but she wasnt in the pond.

DN: What?

Maria jumps out of another bush wearing her ninja outfit and knocks Dark Ninja into the water with a tree branch cut like a sword.

Maria: Learn to expect an attack whenever.

DN: You learn well (Holds his had up, she grabs it and he flips her into the water.) Whenever, Lady Ninja. Take your bath, class is over today. (Gets up and walks away.)

Castle Happy

Happy sits on his throne, he looks as bored as he can possibly look for a king with his sunny disposition.

Happy: Maria has been gone for a week, King Block will not be happy. I need results hmm (presses a button) Sir Laughs-a-lot! I want you to bring the Dark Ninja here, alive if possible.

Voice: Yea verily. I shalt deliver the varlet, your most ecstaticy.

Happy: Good Hahaha

The Next day

Maria wakes up in her room of the cabin, and thinks of the last days training.

Maria: (It seems so hard. But I want to become a ninja, I dont know why though) Could it be because of my forgotten childhood?

Dark Ninja walks in.

DN: Whats this about your childhood?

Maria: Well, what about yours?

DN: What about mine?

Maria: I cant tell you until you tell me.

DN: Oh I see, so you want to play it that way huh? Alright. When we train today, if you hit me, I might be able to tell you. (Walks out)

Forest

Maria follows Dark Ninja into a clearing
